Madera, CA Plant Achieves ISO Certification
02-06-2012
The Wine Sector’s Madera, California, plant recently became the first Verallia North America facility to achieve ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Certification. ISO 14001 standards help organizations minimize their impact on the environment, comply with applicable laws and regulations and work toward continuous improvement. A certification such as this is an essential part of Verallia’s strategy to minimize its environmental footprint through targeted efforts in the manufacturing process, including increasing recycled content and optimizing furnace energy. Verallia North America continues to be recognized for these efforts becoming the first – and, to date, only – glass container manufacturer to earn the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award in 2009. Winning a third year in a row in 2011, the company was awarded with Sustained Excellence. To learn more about the ISO Certification, visit www.iso.org.
